For the history keeps moving forward and it has been through a long time, it is difficult to find the exact location of the platform, and few people really know this story.Recently, the reporter went to the Qidu Mountain in Zitong County to visit the relevant researchers to explore the beautiful story of the platform.
The platform is a historical relic of the Wufu Mountain (or Changling) in Zitong County, probably located not far from the current Shui Guanyin Temple group.
While walking on the ancient path, the sun fell on the bluestone road through the ancient cypress gap. As we stroll in the uneven stone road, it seems that the history has replayed in front of us,and we can see the ancient shu king and the king of qin contended for power and territory, showing us a series of stories, which are spread through the ages and full of tragedy, romance and sorrow.
As for the platform, it was recorded in the Records of Yuanfeng and The Records of Huayang. Five Women Mountain (or Changling) is 12 miles north of Zitong County, 420 zhang high."The Records of Yuanfeng Nine domain" said: "King Hui knew King Shu had a strong lust for the beauty. Therefore,he agreed to marry five charming ladies to King Shu, and King Shu sent Wuding to welcome the ladies. While on their way back, they came across a big snake crawling into the hole in Zi Tong. One man tried to pull it out by its tail, but he failed, then four more men joined to help. Finally, the snake was pulled out, but mountain also collapsed simultaneously, burying all of them under the rocks. After that, the mountain was divided into five parts, and there were many flat stones at its top. On hearing the accident, The king of Shu was overwhelmed with sadness, and then climbed to the top for this sake. Hence, this mountain was named Five Women’s Tomb. The flat stones at the top was set as the Wife-missing platform.Five Women temple was built at the Han dynasty."
Wu Xiaolong, who has worked in the Zitong County Cultural Relics Management Institute for more than 30 years, is now the deputy general manager of QiQu Mountain Tourism Company and believes that the recorded in Shu Ji is an ancient legend. In the 32nd year of the King, Zhou xian (337 BC), the king of Shu sent emissaries to the Qin Dynasty.King Hui knew that the king of Shu was lecherous and married five beautiful women to the king of Shu. For one reason is to kill his will and the second is to paralyze his vigilance. The king of Shu sent five string men to pick the ladies up.On the way back,While walking near Zitong, a man saw a big snake crawling into the hole. That man had to show his muscle. With quick eyes and hands, he grabbed the snake's tail, trying to pull it out,but he failed. Then four more men joined to help. The flat stones at the top was set as the Wife-missing platform..Another version says that the warrior was afraid that the snake would scare the ladies, so he went to catch the snake, leading to a landslide.
Wu Xiaolong believes that from a scientific point of view, it was a landslide, not caused by the snake catching, but a natural landslide. The number of landslides in the history of Zitong Qilu Mountain is countless. In recent years, the Party committee and the government constantly drive piles into the earth to reinforce, and finally to effectively curb the landslide phenomenon.
The tragic story of the platform, which has been circulating for more than two thousand years, is still circulating among the people, but the specific location of the wife of Shu can not be found.Wu Xiaolong led the reporter along the ancient Shu road under the Qiqu Mountain. While near an ancient cypress tree, he pointed to a ramp, he said, according to the history of the Qiqu Mountain landslide analysis, the platform should be nearby. Many researchers believe that the platform is on the top of the Qiqi mountain, far away from the ancient Shu road. " This is not reasonable."Wu Xiaolong believes that the Wuding excavated the mountain to meet the women from Qin,which means the scope of activities should be near the ancient Shu road, so the platform should not be in the mountains.
Ancient cypresses set off the bluestone, and the scenery along the way is breathtaking. In Zitong County, Qidu Mountain scenic area, down along the bluestone ladder, after several turns, you can see a stone tablet standing on the roadside, with two characters: Jianquan.Although few people know the story of the platform, many people talk about Jianquan or Shui Guanyin.
"In the story of Wuding Excavate the mountain, they inserted their swords here and formed the sword spring."Speaking of these legends, Wu Xiaolong is very familiar with them.Jianquan now has a special hall, whose name is Shui Guanyin, outside the hall there is a couplet: three thousand years for road in Shu, the first spring for Jianmen.Today's Shui Guanyin is a temple group.Shui Guanyin temple group is located in the place where the Wuding last their swords. For the construction of Guanyin temple, therefore it’s commonly known as Shui Guanyin.
So why is Jianquan called Shui Guanyin ?This is yet another legend.Legend has it that in order to save his parents,Wenchang Emperor, Zhang Yazi ,with the help of the Erlang god, shot three arrows through the poplar hole making the Xuzhou flooded by Fujiang, and he finally rescued his parents. At this time, Guanyin Bodhisattva saw that the flood will swallow the good people, so she put the flood into the Aquarius. After Zhang Yazi had rescued his parents, he noticed that the water receded, suddenly realizing that it was the magic of Guanyin Bodhisattva that spared them from this disaster. Therefore, they built a Guanyin temple here to repay the grace of Guanyin.Another theory is that during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Buddhism took root on the ancient Shu Road, and Shui Guanyin was built on the Wuding JianQuan. Later, many more temples such as Luohan Hall, Daxiong Hall and Guanyin Hall were built.
Of course, there is also a simple statement. After the formation of Jianquan, some Buddhist believers believed that the water of Jianquan is the nectar of Guanyin, so it is also called Shui Guanyin.
The dangerous pavilion of Shui Guanyin temple group is the boundary point of the slope of Jinniu ancient Shu Road.Wu Xiaolong introduced, " moving towards the north into the Qinling Mountains and to Shaanxi where there are many mountains, steep terrain, rugged roads. To the south, it is low-lying, and finally reaches Chengdu, the center of the Land of Abundance.”
Now, on a fine day, while walking on the bluestone road, the sunset looks like blood, which seems that it is mourning for the Wuding, or look for heroes who can lift the mountain. In the secluded ancient Berlin, as if you can hear the long ridge of the women of Qin...
Whether it is the Wuding to welcome the women of Qin into Shu, or the legend of the platform, it is only a few part of the story of the king of Shu and Qin while contending for hegemony.
Near the temple, there is a flying stack cloud Taurus shu road, according to the Sichuan traffic history records, since the third century of BC, in the 1930s, during about 2300 years, in this long historical period, Sichuan land transport completely rely on the post road. This shows its importance. On this ancient road, you can also find the ancient plank road, horse wall, ancient post hall, drinking horse trough and other sites.
Unique ancient road and ancient rhyme, long historical sites, had recorded many competing stories between the king of Qin and Shu.The historical records of the Annals of Zhu Shu and the Records of Huayang have both recorded the historical events between Shu and Qin .
Xie Yaozong, secretary general of the Romance of The Three Kingdoms in Zitong County, said that in 337 BC, King Kaiming XII of Shu went to Hanzhong and Nanzheng. When King Huiwen of Qin was also hunting there, the two Kings met at the mouth of the Qinling Valley. The King of Qin, give a gold to the king of Shu.The king of Shu sent a bag of soil to the king of Qin, meaning that the king was as cheap as dirt. The king of Qin was furious and always wanted to swallow Shu. Due to the narrow and dangerous passage between Qin and Shu, it was unfavorable to the army.Later, the king of Qin ordered people to carve five stone cows with huge stones, and arranged some soldiers to throw gold behind the bottom of the cows in the morning. Some soldiers assumed that the stone oxen pulled out the gold. When the news came to Shu, the king of Shu asked the king of Qin for five stone cows.Although the king of Qin still agreed to the king of Shu.The king of Shu sent five warriors to meet him and dragged the five stone oxen back. The five warriors is not five people, but a special army, all of which are strong warriors, martial arts master, while five of them are particularly prominent,so it’s called "Wuding".These powerful warriors opened roads through the mountains and built Bridges, greatly broadening the passage between Qin and Shu, and creating this road between Qin and Shu, later known as Shiniu Road and Jinniu Road. With great pains, " the Wuding dragged the five stone cows back to Chengdu. The king of Shu waited for several days and nights without seeing a piece of gold until he was cheated by the king of Qin.So, the stone cow was returned, scolding the king of Qin as a herding cow boy.The king of Qin said that the next time to Shu to put cattle...
In order to slacken the vigilance the king of Shu, the king of Qin chose five beauties to be sent to the king of Shu, which created the legend that the king of Shu memorizing his wives. The ancients have a poem "Wu Fu Ling Huai Gu", " E Mei gladly left the Qin court, for the supreme West Shu.Do not know the tricks made by the king of Qin, lost their lives before making it to the Shu court."In the poem, the tragic story of the competition between king of Qin and Shu and the five women is told most vividly. When the king of Qin heard that Wuding was dead, he followed the road and sent troops to swallow Shu.In the war of Qin in 316 BC, the ancient king of Shu died.
